LITEON CV3-CE512-11 SATA 512GB

December 3rd, 2019, 7:03

Hi there,

I have this LITEON CV3-CE512-11 SATA 512GB SSD with MARVELL 88SS1074-BSW2 controller.

First try: Drive came ready. I can Read ID. If i try to read sector result in BSY.

After lots of trials pwr on and off it started to work normally. I even copied 25GB of data with good speed of 65-70mb/s.

After a bad sector it get's back to square 1. Any sector i try result in BSY.

Aceab told me it is totally unsuported at firmware level.

So I tried In-circuit recovery of SSDs with "weak" NAND like described here http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=106&t=2740

I noticed that around 2.425 - 2.450V it started to read, so i was very happy.

Not for long, because all read sectors are 44 44 44 44 44 44 44 44 44 44 44 44 44 44 44 44 DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.

I was using PC 3000 Flash as power supply and i thought it's not delivering enough amps (max 500mA).

But connected to a lab power supply it seems like it's only draining 70mA.

Any ideeas how to move further? Some new tricks maybe?

Thanks all.

Controller reballing and memory chips voltage variation.
