Looking to dump the firmware, modify the serial number and/or model number, and reflash.

Tried several versions of MPTool that I found online but this was as far as I had gotten (see pics). Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you.

As far a I know MP tools don't dump firmware, just writes it

Cavaet is that I haven't used MP Tool for anything serious as 1) I don't trust them(myself with them?) and there is no real documentation worth its salt to be 100% confident that I wouldn't kill the drive.

I don't know if there might be a different password/passcode for the MP Tools that will allow editing the serial or not, I think some SMI or Phison have different user level codes.

There might be other things you need to do for the tools such as drivers or some factories have hardware that is a requirement of the tools working properly. Not even sure if serial is available to change in MP Tools, but I think so.

For the picture that has the flash error, this might be just you need to find the right version of MP Tool that has your flash in the config/database file... such as a later version
