Seagate st1000lm014 I really need help!

Hi there, I really need some help to fix / recover data from a Seagate st1000lm014 sshd.

I believe that the pcb is damaged, as the drive makes no sound at all. The guy who fitted a new hard drive to my laptop ( I could have done that bit but he offered) tried a similar pcb and the drive did spin up.

I understand that a new pcb is required with the same firmware and the bios chip from my board needs moving across to the new board and cache needs erasing too. This would be beyond me but there is data on the drive I really need. Is there anyone in hddguru land that can suggest where I go with this. I’m in the uk and am willing to send it away and would help to source a replacement pcb if required.

FW : lvd1
Board number : 100705349 rev d

Help would be very much appreciated.

Call Sean at pcimage.co.uk. He is excellent and has honest and fair pricing.

Almost certainly will be a failed NAND flash on this, it usually is.

There’s a bit more to it than just switch “BIOS” chip and erasing the “cache” :-)

We have a lot of experience with these drives and pretty sure we will be able to recover this. :-)
