Just to make it clear, you are not going to send the iphone anywhere ? You want to find someone in Roumania. What is your budget to recover data ?

Ok, IPhone 8 are good phone for repair, not like the new one.
first, can you put the phone in DFU ? (Follow the instruction below). If you can set it to DFU, do nothing else. Don't update/restore.

No, the phone is "dead", black display...nothing happens when it's connected to a computer or to charger.

Why would I ship a phone from Canada to the other side of the world for you to ship it back to Canada? While I know that you are reputable, the who process sounds shady to me and I can only imagine what clients would think.

Luke... I would like to thank you 1st. for the nice words (It really means a lot for us here).. In addition the charges for Error 14 are almost fixed (but might sound expensive for some users if we count keeping the phone) am not charging much btw, but when you think about it only series people/clients will pay for it (which am doing here, and am really selective with my clients)

Again, when you know the guy from Canada very well and he knows you am sure you will get my point here..

btw its more or less the price of the Iphone 12 Max Pro

This guy claims he fixed it. One guy verified with with iPhone SE, seems to work according to him. I know too little about this to judge if it's legit or not ...

It sounds like Apple did address that issue. I recovered three Iphones on Friday ( 8, XS, XR) only by doing the normal update from MacBook running Big Sur. Those were failing with error 14 for past 9 months. I still have one IPad mini 2 to recover, update doesn't work for that one.
