Hello, I have an HP V222W USB flash drive 16GB and I want to know what is its Chipset model? The computer can't open my flash drive and I used the ChipGenius and etc., but they can't detect my flash drive too. I can't open this flash drive and see its Chipset model. Can anyone tell me what Chipset model HP brand using or any experiences? For example, Phison, SMI, AlcorMP, Chipsbank or etc. Thank you. |

Google : bunnie microsd for a look at what I'm talking about. I take it you want to use the MP tools to try and recover. you could just try some phison / smi / alcor etc and see which one reads something but I think this is a fools errand. If you can't send a photo of something, I don't think there is any help anyone can give. |

I could be wrong, but I think it's from Taiwan. If it's not detected in ChipGenius then I doubt you're going to get far using an MPtool. |

Yes, that's my understanding too. Data will be lost most likely although I have seen some examples that if a specific procedure is followed with some devices data can still be recovered afterwards (example https://www.usbdev.ru/articles/a_ite/ut165datarecovery/). But as a general rule, data is lost AFAIK. I suspect OP does not care though. |

are you looking for data recovery? if so, the steps would be : 1) remove the coating from the same side of the Monolith UFD, using very fine sandpaper or a fibreglass pen(ebay!). This needs to be done CAREFULLY so you don't grind away the PCB tracks underneath 2) dump NAND 3)use DR techniques on the dump to recover. This may or may not be easy. If you do step 1 and send another photo, maybe someone here will recognise the PCB tracks that will ID the chipset, and thus the chance of recovery |

Do you even read what people write? If chipgenius does not detect the drive then it's end of story. In test mode or safe mode or whatever you call it means you switch the controller into that mode. If the controller is not detected in chipgenius there's a good chance controller is dead. So repair is at a dead end. For recovery you may still be able to dump NAND as it bypasses the controller. |
