Hi everyone,

I have seen one or two threads with this specific nVME SSD from Toshiba, no info so far.
The device is not visible in BIOS, and I would say it doesnt even get warm when connected.

I must say I have no specific tools for this such as PC3000. I only have MRT which I think it is of no use (correct me if I am wrong)

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is chip-off the only way to go? no instructions or pinout in case the SSD is in BSY mode?

Picture attached.

Many thanks in advance.

Measured:

V1 1.8v
V2 1.2v
3.3v present

It seems OK then I see...
Controller corrupted? chip-off?
Is there a ROM shorted point or so?

We have some time ago this model and was recovered. It was PCB failure if I good remember. Chip-off is last option here.

I wish there was a paid forum like the one Louis Rossmann has, where paid people actually help to answer questions.

DR doesn't naturally lend itself to that model. If your voltages are fine then it's most likely the controller, but you can't tell for sure without the device in hand or hooked up to something like PC3000 portable. If someone has bought that for 10K they will want to recover their investment before providing advice, free or not to their competitors.

Well, in your case, you would have paid for nothing, if it's the controller, you can not do it yourself. Have you tried to power it for a long time, like 1 hour, then reset and see if you get something ?

Thank you Lardman.
Yes, I totally get that people need to recover their investment. I am referring to having people ask questions that are made, more than anything.
Obviously paying a monthly subscription, for example. That way they can get paid.

If I can pay and just get questions answered, that would be great. I mean I will still be asking for questions or advice! even if the answer is not desirable.
Thanks for the reply by the way!

What does the status register show in MRT when powering on the drive via SATA port?

Its an nvme AFAIK the protocols aren't compatible - you've not going to get anything on the sata register are you ? (Genuine questions -I can't test it, I don't have MRT ).
