Post subject:  SSD as backup drive for long term

I have 2 SSDs and one 2TB HDD.
SSD 120GB and 240GB SSD.

120Gb I use it for the OS. Second 240 SSD is free. 2 TB HDD for data storage.

As I know SSD life span depends on read/write cycle the more you read/write the life is effected. One cannot keep the data forever on SSD as it one needs to keep it power on. I need to keep data backup which i don't need regularly. ( like photo and some important files)

What if I backup my data on second SSD than hide from disk management from explorer. This will avoid unnecessary read/write to SSD. I don't need to use it everyday just once in a month.

According to my knowledge as it is plugged in there is no issue of losing power everyday. When I need it just unhide the SSD backup some data and again hide it from disk management.

Question is will this increase the life span of SSD which is now say X to 2X or whatever.

Thanks

Is it really a backup or a storage?
A backup means that there is an original and a copy...
What I recommend is a backup.
