Hello,
My two cent : my "noname" removed NAND connected to GPIO of STM32 have the same behavior on B/R pin when there is no or too low pull up resistor. It take about 800ms to 1200ms to get reset busy flag....

The Busy/Ready pin is open drain. A pullup resistor is mandatory. In any case I believe the OP's BSY problem is due to error recovery issues.

Yes, that why I understand and read after notice this behavior.
A capacitive effect make the edge very very slow to rise above the Th-H (0.72xVDD). with proper pull up, the edge is "straight".
But I just begin to wonder I BSY refer to busy pin (R/B)... I'm off topic ?

When the OP is talking about "busy", it means that the entire USB device is being seen as busy by the USB host, in this case the data recovery tool.
