Smartphone - Samsung - SM-405FN - water damage

October 21st, 2021, 9:08

Hi,

I've got this SM-405FN (Samsung A40), water damaged, no corrosion can be found. I have a working A40, so I moved the motheboard to that case (LCD, battery). When connected it takes 0.10 but doesn't boot. Working A40 take 0.10 when plugged in then after 2 seconds it goes up to 1.2A.

With Samsung phone, when it takes 0.25A, most of the time it's NAND or CPU, so there's no hope for DR. That one is different.

With Schematic, I looked at PMIC, it's a S2MU106X01. I've checked cap near PMIC they are ok. I am pretty sure it's a minor problem.

I can't find a good forum for Android repair... so I am trying here. Would be great to have a Smartphone section with two sub-section (apple and Android or other).

Thanks

I found the issue. There was a connection problem near U7000. The phone is booting and I can make a backup with Smart Switch now.
