Hi

I have a "Kioxia KBG30ZMV512G" in for data recovery.

It's not detected by a Windows laptop/PC.

I have measured the voltages as per:
http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php? ... 054#p22120

Results:
V1 = 1.8V.
V2 = 1.2V.
3.3V (near V2) is present.
3.3V is present.

I have also checked the EMI filters (for continuity) and found no issues.

I can't find a controller on this SSD. Does this SSD even have one on the SSD PCB?

I have plugged this SSD into a Linux laptop (using a external NVME to USB caddy) and have some "dmesg" output.

Does anyone have a clue what the dmesg output means?
Is chip off recovery *even* possible for this SSD?

I can send this SSD to a data recovery specialist, but I don't want to waste time on this if this would be a pointless exercise.

What's peoples opinion on this?

Thanks, David

It's an "SSD on a chip":
