Is there a way to flash Dell Firmware MZILG3T8HCLSAD3 on a brand new Samsung SSD MZILG3T8HCLS?
As you can see below the difference is only the last 3 chars.
MZILG3T8HCLSAD3
MZILG3T8HCLS

The reason is: Dell is selling these drives for $3.5k and I can buy from 3rd party the Samsung drives for 650$. Unfortunately I do not have budget to buy Dell branded SSD's and the PowerVault ME5024 does not allow me to use non Dell drives.

Thanks in advance for any help

Not allow? I read 'not supported' but confused as to interpret as 'will not work' or 'in case of trouble you are on your own'.

You cannot build an Array, the disk is not supported as you can see below (without Dell branded drives it will not work at all).
To use their storage device, Dell is forcing everyone to buy Dell drives. I can understand to pay 30-50% more compared to a Samsung drive.
I cannot understand why to pay more than 5 times for a Samsung branded Dell SSD.

If the drives are the same hardware but just branded by the OEM due to running different firmware, you might be able to extract the firmware image from the firmware update Dell has released and flash it using hdparm. That's what people are doing in the blog post below, as well as in the comments there.

I'm not that the actual model number will change though, so if that's what they check it might not make a difference.
