Hi All
Just found this forum as was hoping for some help.
After shutdown i cant seem to access my Samsung 860 EVO 1tb ssd...
It can been seen in the Bios but that seems to be about it - its not viewable in disk management. I sent it away to Dataclinic who said that their recovery software wouldnt work on this particular drive.
Currently considering speaking to Ontrack but thought i'd check if there was anything i could do beforehand to possibly gain access to my data ?

Those drive have a digital signature, they are not supported by anyone. However you should try to contact a pro and see what they can do, I don't know what tool data medic has, maybe the drive get ready a fraction of seconds and that would be enough to clone it with the right tool. Avoid Ontrack. Was it showing the correct capacity in the bios ?
Not knowing what's been previously done to it at dataclinic won't help your chances though. Without main stream software support , it may be possible to image but it's depends on how far things have gone, can't really tell that without the drive in hand.

Yes, it was showing 960Gb. Ive no idea what Dataclinic did tbh...

Showing the correct size is a promising sign. You can at least rule out electrical problems and total nand failure.
Options at that stage were to try and brute force the data out which may be very time consuming and the drive might fail completely whist doing it or to look to swap the nand over to another PCB, which is costly as you need a donor drive before you start, isn't guaranteed to work and frankly it's a PITA to do.
If you want confirmation if option 1 is possible which is normally the only financially practical solution for retail clients you're welcome to send it in for a free evaluation.
