Hello,

I am asking myself if the card adapter would be helpful and how much SD-cards would I be able to handle without soldering based on your experience?

In which kind of cases will the card adapter be useful?

IMHO it does occasionally work with bad SD Cards. But 95%+ of the time you will still be soldering.

I've used it once. I think the money would have been better spent on some of the fixed pin layout microsd adapters now available.

Those are the ones I was referring to. If you're looking to reduce your soldering it's the way forward, you're never going to remove the need completely. Just find the layout(s) you're doing most often and remove the bulk of it.

I love the multi-com stuff, just so expensive. And typically, you buy one for a case and never use it again....

I'm using the SD card reader for an16GB SandDisk SD card that doesn't ID directly. Yet, through the reader, it detects and reads at 1.8MB/sec without any apparent issues. Most of the time, the issue is more complex, but I've recovered more than enough cases with the card reader to pay for the card reader.

The multi-board adapter is nice with the Data Labs 3x7 & 6x4 microSD adapters. Anyone got a source for other cards that will fit the multi-board adapter? Any chance that multi-com makes any?
