http://www.users.on.net/~fzabkar/ssd_flash_ics.txt Can you not tilt it and read the markings? What are the voltages on the pins? |

This thread has part IDs and voltages: https://forum.hddguru.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=40472&start=20 RT8086B, Richtek, Synchronous Step-Down Converter, 3.5A, 1.2MHz, 2.8V - 5.5Vin, marking 0Yx, UQFN-12L: http://chip.tomsk.ru/chip/chipfile0-x.nsf/all/34D15D8C9E31816246257F80005444F2/$File/DS8086B-02.pdf https://www.richtek.com/assets/product_file/RT8086B/DS8086B-01.pdf I would test for shorts at the output of each DC-DC converter, ie between each inductor and ground. |

thanks for the link to the other post, sad there was no final answer from OP. there's several component to gnd here (both pads), all in red. I was thinking the Cap in blue could be the root but DC-DC is clearly heating quickly.

It's easy enough to pull the ic and see if the shorts disappear. |
