Hello Again , Suddenly i have started to receive SSD cases ,earlier it was just HDD and occasional SSD's . I have received a Samsung PM851 MSATA .There is a acelab blog for this -> http://blog.acelaboratory.com/pc-3000-s ... minal.html "Blocked for Normal Users ,Only for Acelab Customers " . They seem to support this CPU " S4LN045X01-8030 " . Here is what i have received Attachment: So lets check both sides of this SSD with the sticker removed Attachment: Attachment: Well after reading that article on the acelab blog i think this is safe mode points and terminal connections . My circuit is a little different but this is what i think are safe mode test points and terminal connection pads " The coating of terminal connection needs to be removed and wire has to be soldered there " .Please Click on Photo Below To See it In Larger Domain Attachment:

My understanding is that the two pads closest to the centre of the PCB are the safe mode shorting points. The mSATA PCB doesn't expose the terminal pins, so that's why Ace doesn't support this form factor. At least that was the case the last time I looked. |

My rates flipped about 2 years ago, I get about 60/40 solid state now, it's a sign of things to come. My successful recovery percentage has also taken a huge hit as a result, change is not always a good thing.Amarbir[CDR-Labs] wrote: My circuit is a little different but this is what i think are safe mode test points and terminal connection pads From my understanding you have both pairs of correct pads identified but the functionality flipped.I assume your pc3K support has expired, does your version of pc3k cover these, otherwise I'm curious on how you're going to proceed. |

Well, Acelab does support mSATA form factor ,And they have clearly marked the pads for safe mode access in thier blog. The Terminal pins in mSATA interface has a via on component side masked not exposed ,Hence you need to scratch those VIAS to get terminal access .Terminal access is required to work with this SSD due to the fact ATA Section gets blocked when SSD enters Busy mode . |

Well, I am very sure my findings and pads identification is bang on .Very earliest PC3K versions with SSD support do support these SSD ,I am going to proceed with my brain not acelabs brain ,Only thing i use is thier tool .Infact since many years i have never taken acelab support .We in India these days live on cutting edge tools and technology . PS : Customer did not like my quote of USD 175/- He took case back and i gladly handed it back .Let him run around a bit i am going nowhere |

Aces red/blue colour scheme reverse half way into the article and there doesn't appear to be anything specific for that drive page. I assume as you had the drive in front of you, that you actually checked it Over here the standard ssd recovery price is about 2 days of the average wage, it's difficult to gauge prices globally. |

To work with this drive, you must use the 840 EVO utility. Attachment: Terminal840EVO_M.jpg [ 58.12 KiB | Viewed 6059 times ] |
