I locked my old SV300 using the password in the BIOS and it does not take it now. I used symbols so maybe it has a bug, I don't know but I want to unlock it.

It's empty so I don't care about data. It's all default settings so not max security. I don't recall if I used user or admin password to lock it.

I tried erasing using hdparm but it failed. I tried 32 spaces and 32 t for password. I tried kingston app, the old one finds it but doesn't allow me to erase it.

What do I do? I'm sure there's a way because the reason for locking a storage device is to secure data and if it's compromised erase it. Unless kingston majorly screwed up and made their disks useless if you lock it, then I'm sure someone could sue them for a major bug in product development rendering their devices useless without a reason.

Are you trying to unlock the SSD in a different machine?

Actually yes. I decided to use another SSD for the original one after finishing BIOS config. If it's as simple as this and there is no way to remove it from another machine, how do I remove the password once I put it in the original one?

Go into BIOS on the original machine and disable the password.
