I have a PNY CS900 SSD that somehow became afflicted with the "SATA FIRM S11" error. Trying to recover it, I followed a YT tutorial and long story short, the drive lost its ID information. I contacted PNY regarding the issue and while they refused to assist me in the data recovery attempt, they did send me a new drive (my drive was still under warranty). The drive they sent me was the exact same drive that messed up on me, so I was wondering if there is any way to restore that ID information using the new drive that was sent to me. I have data on the afflicted drive that I hadn't gotten around to backing up that I would really like to regain. Because of this, I have come to you guys; the HDD Gurus. I am not savvy when it comes to data recovery, but I am a proficient PC user. If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. With hat in hand, I look forward to any and all feedback regarding the matter. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. -- NXS |

Controller problems. Should be the standard PS3111 and any lab with PC3000 ssd should be able to recover it for you but it's not something you're going to fix yourself. |

Sorry for such a late response but thank you for the information. I live in a very isolated rural town pretty far away from any urban/commercial areas, so finding anyone around or near me who has that hardware would be impossible. Still, thanks for the replies. |

...and there are no postal services available in your area too? You can simply ship your drive to a data recovery lab. |
