Drevo X1 120GB - HDD LLF Question

Hi guys!
I have some doubts before buying the software.

I'm trying to format my brother's 120GB Drevo X1 SSD that had the OS installed, and which appears to have bad sectors.

Basically the disk is detected in the bios, but by connecting it to the PC, the latter does not start, crashes etc.
I have now installed it in my pc to try and format it, of course my pc won't boot either.

By connecting the SSD once windows is started it is not detected in the windows disk management (indeed it freezes, or the service is not initialized at all), I also tried to use "diskpart" from a command prompt, but once diskpart was started the latter it won't let me type anything into the prompt, so I can't continue.

Now I downloaded the free version of HDD LLF, I connected SSD after windows start and apart from some problem that it causes, I managed to get it detected by HDD LLF.
Now, starting the formatting process however the program stops responding, so my question is;
Is this behavior normal? is the program still working?
I've read that the free version supports speeds of 50mbs, and a maximum of 180GB per hour.

I was considering purchasing the program, but I wouldn't want this SSD to be unrecoverable, and consequently send the program to block, so not even the paid version could be able to format it.

thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately no programs can read the ssd, some crash when trying to read it, while some don't detect it at all. (I've tried them all)
Only HDD LLF detects it, but when I go to format as I previously said, the program stops responding not continuing the operation.
At this point I believe that the ssd has a short circuit somewhere, otherwise there is no other explanation.

I did a secure erase with parted magic eraser on a linux boot, it was successful but sadly the ssd is still not working.
These are logs 1 basic and 1 extended.
But I really think that the record has come to the end of its days, I don't think there's a way to bring it back to life.
After doing the secure erase, obviously I tried to allocate it with g parted, but I can't create a partition table neither in msdos, nor in gpt.
Information says "unrecognized disc label"
I've been trying them all for 2-3 days, can I give up or can some good soul tell me something more?

I guessed something, but I'm not very experienced.
Anyway, the ssd in question isn't that old, I have a kingstone ssd in my pc that's almost 10 years old and is still in perfect working order.
Well then I conclude that there is nothing to do? Can this Drevo be thrown in the trash?

It was one of the first things I did initially, but I didn't seem to notice anything strange, but then again I'm not very experienced.

"PF32B2ALCMG2" doesn't generate many hits in the search engines. I suspect that it's bottom-of-the-barrel junk NAND.

You could try to identify the actual NAND maker using the "SMI flash id" tool:

There's nothing you can do, we're just poking around now.

The flash is identified as Intel, so that's a surprise. The total capacity is 144GB (3 x 384 Gbits). That means that there is 24GB of overprovisioned space. That would normally be a good sign.

Browsing around on google I found some videos where they repair the ssd by writing a new firmware with a program called MPTool.
Do you think it could work? I'll leave you the links I found if it's not against the rules of the forum.

Anyway thanks for the enormous patience you are having in helping a stranger, and by the way for a cheap ssd!
You know I'm not very expert, I get along a bit in general, and I find satisfaction in these things, before buying and replacing products I like to try to solve problems where possible and based on my ability obviously.
In this case I would like to surprise my brother and not make him spend money since he is not in a good period economically speaking, and unfortunately neither am I.

By all means, you have nothing to lose. However, your drive's bad blocks will probably keep increasing.

In fact your NAND's part number, PF32B2ALCMG2, seems to be obscurely related to PF29F32B2ALCMG2 or 29F32B2ALCMG2 (PF = Pb Free = Lead Free). I'm wondering whether it's been scavenged from factory seconds. Those other part numbers are genuine Intel NAND.

I tried to do the procedure to write the firmware but, there is no tool for NAND PF32B2ALCMG2.
As you said it seems closely related to "PF29XXXXXXX"

I tried to use "SMI MPTool SM2258XT Intel_B0KB P1116A", and it recognizes the ssd, but the firmware writing fails indicating errors; - Not MPISP Mode(1B)
- It is not ISP mode!!

The procedure is simple, put a jumper in the ROM holes on the card, connect it, open the tool edit config parameters choosing the flash, indicating the capacity in Gb etc, then save, remove the jumper and start the process.
As soon as I click on start after a couple of seconds the error "Not MPISP Mode(1B)" comes out

Actually there can be something as being different NAND models, even if as mentioned they would seem closely related to each other.

Also I noticed that the controller is 2258XT AB, while the tool is for 2258XT AD controllers, this could be the problem too I guess?!

Well honestly I can't figure it out!

It also seems strange to me that after doing the "secure erase" the situation didn't improve, and as if despite having been successful, the procedure still failed?!

However I am aware that the blocks will continue to worsen even if I manage to solve it, but temporarily it would be good to be able to bring it back to life!

"ROM mode" and "ISP mode" are two different things.

I understand, but they say to jumper in the holes of the rom.
And in the videos I've seen they do this and it works.
I tried to locate the ISP holes as suggested by you, in reality I tried putting the jumper in all 8 (obviously not closing all 8 holes together, but trying 2 at a time) those that are on the card, but nothing.

on 1 and 2 as marked in the picture, the program not recognizes ssd when I scan drive, while where I marked the "X" the ssd is recognized normally from pc, and in any case by scanning drive in the program it stops responding.

I don't know, I think I'll give up at this point.

If you have any other suggestions fine, otherwise don't worry mate, you've done even more than you should have and I'm very grateful.

Well, continuing to sift through the intricacies, and as far as I understand, this error "Not MPISP Mode (1B)
(0x1B): FW is not parked in MPISP mode after download MPISP code" I get from SMI MpTool is that the controller does not accept the unsigned service part of the firmware.
Some recommend trying a SATA to USB 3.0 adapter, but I doubt this will solve the problem, if I happen to find one I will definitely try.
But I think we can close the matter here.
