Post subject:  90430VM330 -PMIC Sandisk SDSSDE61-500G

Hi,

i got this Sandisk SSD with a PMIC issue. There's no output voltage. Diode is ok, caps ok. It takes 0.1 amp and drive is not detected at all, not BSY.. just not detected.

I can't find replacement part or datasheet for that IC, google point to WD XBOX SSD but there's no good info. I have another Sandisk I could use for donor but PMIC is 9040VM339. For this chip, I can find datasheet.

Anyone knows if they are compatible ?

Thanks
Claude

Can you upload it?

I tought that was datasheet but looks like it's not enough

Just another scumbag web site with phony links to "datasheets". They've worked out that people looking for datasheets will search for PDFs, so they stick their spam inside their own PDFs.

It looks like those are made by qorvo but not easy to get the datasheet.

Active Semiconductor was the original maker, but they were acquired by Qorvo. Even if you were able to match the ACT90430VM part of the name, the last 3 digits define a custom voltage profile and power-up sequence. In other words, even if the pinouts are a match, it could be that the voltages and power sequences are different.

Thank you for the clarification. So I better try to find exact same model then. I've tried Mouser, digikey, Farnell no luck yet.

When searching for datasheets, I use this custom search to filter out most spam:

Donor roulette on ebay is probably safest but they're also available on aliexpress if you want to risk it.

Also appears to have been used on WD BLUE SN550 - which should make finding them on ebay by checking the images easier.

Did you check the MOSFET switch adjacent to the diode? That's a common problem.

Thansk for the input, it could be Mosfet as well. All pads marked in Orange have 3.29V and the filter with green line means they "bip" if I put probe on each side.
It's not easy to test without removing components. Do you beleive I should try to remove the Mosfet (marked AF) and then try to inject voltage on the output ?

Hi, i have right now the same Problem.. like a year ag oi had the same problem and had a donor. I replaced like every component around the chip but still didnt work... Now i have the same problem and i checked the values with a working donor und its nearly the same...

suricate.ch, I get everywere 3.42V.. even on the diode

Since you are getting 3.3V around the PMIC, the MOSFET must be OK.

@Ihab, did you replace PMIC with exact same model ?

suricate.ch, no. That was the only thing i didnt replaced in this area.

I am pretty sure that's the culprit now.
