i have bought a second-hand Seagate XF1230 for my use but upon discovering and investigation it is locked with a high security level.
I have tried the seagate master password: Seagate+25 spaces, SeaGate + 25dots, NULL, xxxx, 0000, 1234, admin, root etc but coming back with sg_io bad missing sense data sb[]....
I have also tried Victoria 5.37 but the unlock section is grayed out with "Disabled in API"..
Seagate Tools > instant Secure Erase shows: Disk 1 - XF1230-1A1920 - This operation is not supported by this drive
I saw a post somewhere stating high security level password can be replaced by: hdparm --user-master m --security-new-pass "pass" /dev/sdc but it also come back with sg_io bad missing.....
May i ask is there another i can try before i go through Unlocking ATA Password of PM863a SSD possible? (
