Hi all
i have a problem with my Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB MZ-7TD120. The drive is not detected by Windows. In BIOS i see this drive but only 1 Gigabyte capacity. I did a basic inspection of the electronics.
and I saw it
Is it possible that this is my problem?

A low capacity like that would indicate a communication issue with the nand or firmware problems.
Check the resistance to ground of the pmic outputs and then check the voltage at the inductors, they don't look to be in the best state but I'd be surprised if they're causing an issue.

I took measurements, it looks like this
during measurements, they all tend to zero

The voltages appear to be ok which would confirm a firmware/nand issue. I can't help with the jtag I'm afraid, this one could be hooked up to pc3000 to recover the data if that's what you need.

Please run my SSD-Diagnostic tool which was made for the EVO840:

PC-3000 is out of my range
I'm thinking about MRT Ultra with SSD package
I have a question for people with more experience, does MRT deal with this type of problems?

Samsung has reused the same pinout on several different models over time. It looks very much like being the same, yes, so I think you can try it.

@sourcerer
i have a problem with your script
when i running it
- Code:
Restarting OpenOCD ...
Connecting to OpenOCD:
Can't call method "send" on an undefined value at ssddiag.pl line 27.
Perl version: 5.36.0-7

That looks like the openocd service isn't running or not running with the necessary configuration. I have provided a configuration file which might need to be adapted to your reader configuration:

what do you expect from attaching to it through jtag?
why not outsource the thing to somebody with pc3k, and the appropriate experience?

On a daily basis, he deals with computer forensics. I'm just starting my adventure with data recovery, the disks are my property, I'm trying to learn something new. I've ordered MRT Ultra for a good start, but unfortunately MRT won't help in this case

friend @michael chiklis wrote that MRT supports S4LN021X01-8030 controllers, is there a chance that MRT will detect this medium in this condition?

If you have it try it - if you don't send it to someone with pc3000 ssd.
