| Post subject: | Cloning Compact Flash |
Hello, I tried unsuccessfully to clone a compact flash with windows XP embedded. I just get a black screen with flashing prompt. I used AOMEI backupper. From what I can tell, everything copied. This is a project I will be working on for industrial machine controllers. A lot of them use CF cards. I'd like to find a software that will accomplish this. Has anyone used this software for cloning CF cards? Also, they are industrial cards and are supposed to be fixed disk. Another interesting thing is if I try to boot to a normal PC with the CF card in a USB reader, it tries to boot, but I get the BSOD. I'm guessing that's just a hardware related issue since it's Windows XP on a newer PC. Thanks! |

I'd try with a true sector-by-sector clone. You can use the DMDE free demo for the purpose (copy sectors task). |

I tried the sector by sector clone but I have more details. It's been a while since I last attempted this but what I get on the screen is verifying pool data. It won't get past this. If I put the original disk in it boots just fine so I don't know if it's a bios issue or what the problem is. |
