FBGA reader?

April 12th, 2024, 0:57

I got a Samsung "KAV00500FM-AFFY" chip.
I find out it is called FBGA.
Is there any reader can make dump? BGA152 reader can read this?

Thanks

From what device is this memory? These chips were used in old samung phones like m8800 pixon, adapter not exist, probably no one have pinout . I thing recovery is possible but a lot of R&D.

It was in old samsung phone SGH A867.
If there is no adapter and pinout, there are no recovery tools for this FBGA chip? I thought PC3000 flash spider might can recover...(If somebody have pinout...)
If I exchange this chip to working SGH-A867, is there any chances to make dump file?
Is there any driver that can read old samsung phones?
I heard Samsung mobile driver support only few features like phone number, pictures, and mp3...

Anyone has experienced this kind of case...?

Maybe this will give you some hint. This chip is combo RAM+FLASH.
I found there AV00500FM-AFFY is also used in Samsung T919, probably in some other phones from same year.
If you know somebody who repairs phone, you could ask to look into one of those schematic databases (Borneo, ZX"something", , maybe there you can find pinout.
Borneo
I also found there are some phone simlock tools which are capable to read/write this flash in phone, not sure if whole flash.

In the old days, to read the dump from a tagged device, was used RiFF Box via JTAG, so chip must be in working motherboard and read via JTAG
other tool: Easy Z3x JTAG, Medusa JTAG etc.
