Adapter and software for starting flash data recovery?

Hello
I have this Kingston Data traveller that I want to try and recover.
Its not detected but voltages are present and they seem fine.
I tried finding an identical donor flash drive, to try for chip transplant - but no luck. I get sent either different models or fake flash drives.
From what I understand so far I need:
1. NAND Flash Reader with TSOP-48 adapter:
- For example standard TL866II Plus with TSOP-48 adapter is fine?
- where to buy? Of course I can google it, but I would like to be able to trust the tool at least a little when I'm just starting
2. Software:
- Flash Extractor seems to be best choice, but its not available anymore.
- I don't know what other software is recommended, I'm willing to spend money, but not PC-3000 money.
3. Resources:
- I found some information on flash extractor website and on the PC-3000 solutions forum
- I learn as I go, will do research to at least some idea about what I'm doing
4. After I get adapter and read the chip:
- First make RAW dump, then experiment on making the data readable. Is that correct?
Any advice will be appreciated, thank you
