Hello,

I have this Crucial SSD MX500 (500GB) with controller SM2258H and I have pc3000 SSD.

At power on, all pc3000 status leds stay off (only ERR is on and red). So no BSY and no DRD DSC. I can't put it in safe mode

It has 4 memory chips and the second from left gets extremey HOT, you can't even touch it with a finger.

I attach picture. The chip that becomes hot is circled in red.

Do you have advices?

Thanks
Simone

Desolder the memory and check if the drive's behavior has changed or if the short circuits in the power lines have disappeared.
You can then check if the memory is detected with the correct ID in the reader (VNR, PC3K flash, FE).
