Hi, I need to recover data from a SanDisk Ultra II with a Marvell 88SS1074-BSW2 controller.

Unfortunately, the drive shows no signs of life. I've tested all the capacitors and they seem fine.
I think the next step should be measuring the MOSFET.
I found two components in a SOT23 package (marked in red).

My question is: is this a good approach, or should I try something else?

Have you connected this drive to MHDD or another system that can display work log controls?

Yes, I tried, but the disk is not detected by the BIOS or any software.

Start by measuring the voltages at each of the 4 inductors surrounding the Active Semi PMIC.

Measure these test points.

Those voltages are probably OK, in which case you may have a firmware problem.

I didn't ask if the drive was detected, just about the status of the work log. I agree with the opinion about corrupted firmware.

Okay, so gentlemen, what are the chances of fixing this without a PC3K? Unfortunately, MRT didn't reveal the carrier. The pins at the bottom of the carrier look like JTAG. The question is, can I achieve anything with them? Or is there another method?

The pins are for connecting the terminal:

The problem with these drives is usually memory degradation, which, even with the use of appropriate tools, does not allow for satisfactory data recovery.

I'm starting my journey with data recovery, the medium is purely for learning purposes, so I'll give it a try anyway, I'll keep you posted on the progress or lack thereof.

many thansk Lukas
