Strange samsung HD321KJ problem

October 1st, 2008, 22:30

I have this Samsung drive that does not ID but reports ready The terminal looks normal when compared to another drive but when you try to read a sector or firmware it goes busy. Once it goes busy a hard reset puts it ready again. Drive does not make any clicking noises and spins up and stays on. I'm thinking pcb but not really sure. Attached is the terminal log. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks

Samsungs don't like PATA-SATA adapters could it be a problem?

Tried without the PATA adapter but bios does not pick up the drive. MHDD sees the port as BSY. RST makes it ready but goes back to BSY on EID command. Any attempts at reading the surface result in BSY.
