Is this normal on PC3000 UDMA

OK finally got this board working some. But when you have to move cables around on it the problem starts all over again.

Do anyone have this problem on their card.

1. You can not move a cable on ATA1 from IDE to the pata/sata adaptor and not receive a PCI error on the program. You card has to be physically removed from the MB each time you touch this card and change out cables on it?

2. When setting up for cloning and you have the board running it is necessary to shut off your computer each time. Remove the UDMA card from your MB change the connectors on it and put it back in. Then boot back up your computer and start all over again with your work so you can continue or clone your drive.

Well this one is normal here for me. ACE indicated to me that I have to remove my UDMA board from my MB change out the adaptor cables on this. Put the card back into my computer, start it up again and then go on with my work.

They also said for the PCI errors on this board to install on there 2 IDE cable and to purchase a second pata/sata connector and never move a cable on this board again. Just leave it with two IDE cable running on it at all time.

To me why do we have a connector that works on ATA1 that is a special pata/sata to nicely fit into the IDE slot if we can not use it.

Anyone else ever find these problems on your board where you can not work freely and change your adaptor without your board giving you a PCI faital error and locking up you computer if you physically do not remove the UDMA board from your system MB and reset it.

I would love to hear ideas on this one cause 18 months on this one and this is all I can get from ACE on it. It is my MB, 6 brand new ones and all same, now it is my PSU my brand is no good and burns my psi sot in my MB, my program is not right it should not run in French it should run in English.

I would like to hear from others on this one. I have my own work around solution now on this but it is a pain to do this each time.

I'm not really clear on what is causing you to have to plug or unplug cables from your UDMA, but personally I have two IDE cables plugged into it at all times and use pata-sata adapters on the free ends of the cables as necessary. So no, I would say it is not normal to have to remove the card from the computer frequently, or even ever.

I am working like this

ATA0 - for ide disk - also in the end of the cable i can use a IDE to SATA adpater that i have in stock.

ATA1 - i put the adatper to work with sata disk and i just use this to the SATA disk

never had that problem that you are telling about.
