hello
does anyone know what to do in the case where pc3000 does not want to write any modules into WD drive.
it returns some error. i tried overwriting several modules good or bad without success.
it seems the SA is read only.
this is newer drive.
thanks

You'll probably need to be more specific than that.

wd5000bevt
it has bad loader module 11. all the other modules are OK
pc3000 returns "error code:3745" when attempting to write any module.
this includes 11 or even good module.
it will not clear G-list or set password.
so no write access to SA. it can only read SA
thanks

What was the original problem with the drive? Bad heads/ damaged SA area can often prevent modules from being written.

it seems module 11 has been the only problem. the drive is not even opened.
thanks

Did you try to do a hot swap with another HDD identical and write the modules? What version of PC3000 PCI or UDMA? UDMA there is hotswap procedure you can use on this one.

i already tried hot swap and it did not do. drive clicks. it is possible i dont have fully compatible drive for this.
are there any tricks to it?
thanks

This is because you do not have SA copies available. If ATA mod #11 is bad, you cannot read and write to ABA. Try using LDR from compatible donor disk, or quit trying to read/write to ABA...

i can read all modules but 11. i already have them all. i also have matching module 11 from donor and i am unable to write it to the SA. i have no write access to SA at all. i agree that bad module 11 is most likely causing this issue. i wonder if there is a way around it.

Hi, did you ever solve this issue? I am experiencing the same problem here with a WD5000AAKS, ROM appears fine, and i can read all other modules except 11 (0x0:) Drive will not allow me overwrite or edit any other modules.
Did you get any answers on this?...
