Hdd is unable to read the SA.

I strongly suggest that you read the pc3k manual. Once you get a good.understanding of the fundamentals, then you it will be much easier for you to determine how to proceed when running into problems like these.

Also, if you purchased a pc3k product, I assume you are serious about data recovery.

So, to do a better job with time management, also get an understanding of had happened with the drive from the customer. That helps many times.

Also, keep in mind that many complete precise evaluations require donor drives. So, got to build a large stock of drives. Of course, it is nearly impossible to have every drive, but it is possible to replicate problems with similar drives to sort of gain an understanding of what the problem is with the target drive.

Best thing to do as so many members suggested on this forum through out time is to buy or get possession of some broken drives and try to repair them. You will learn a lot from doing this.

There is a lot of work ahead.

HDD looks like it can infact read SA, but some serious part of SA is damaged. I would guess here is likely your ATA overlay is bad (module #11.rpm), but could be a number of things.

First thing to do is check if you have donor firmware with version 000600AP. If not then you need to find it.

At the screenshot you posted press the '...' button next to 'SA SPT' it should correct the value. If not, leave it at 500 for now.

Next you should see if SA Dir reading is successful.

labtech is right in that you need to get a better understanding of the tools and the disks. This problem you have in this case is easier to make worse than it is to make it better, especially if you are not totally sure about what your doing.
