Does anybody have experiences on data recovery from DVR in which the data were overwrited ?

to windows and moreover , how can I recover lost data from it ?

Have anybody experienced success in recovering data when the customer said he has "overwritten data"?

I've had lots of success, but that is because the client didn't know what they were talking about. I've also had clients come in and say that they just formatted the drive, but neglected to mention the re-installation of windows, applications, data recovery software and a few months of using the drive afterwards.
