Looking at a laptop for dev. One option is a 2012 MBP that allows for easy upgrades. I would max out the ram at 16GB and I can handle two SSDs.
It would probably be a 13" and would be a non-retina.
The Dell XPS would have a great screen and has been known for being a great choice for a hackintosh.
Sometimes the OS upgrades on a hackintosh can really suck and the MBP would be about 1/2 the price, but I question if it will work well being that old, even with the 16GB ram and SSD drive.
