Happy New Year to all Guru's!
I've got a few 80GB Hitachi PLAT drives. One was OK and the others with PCB missing. I tried the PCB from the good dirve to the others with no success. When returned the PCB to the original drive it didn't initialised. Obviously, the NVRAM data has been changed. Any sugestions how to read/write NVRAM on this drive and to return the drive to working condition?

Hi BGMan,
I remember a post from pepe where he said that when changing pcb's from ibm or hitachi a bit could be altered which made the pcb not working.
Just changing this bit would restore the functionality.
However, i cant remember which bit it is. I think you should look at the forum of Ace, i think i found it there.
Also for changing the nvram, i think only two possibilities: Pc3000 or programmer.
Best regards,
Dobre

salvationlaura ,check your WEB up for anti-viruses.
BGman,if you want to read/wirte nvrm,i guess 3000 can handle it under safe mode, but concerns modification?you have to call "Salvation hitaichi" tool to reach the goal.
laura, your explanation in video clip is english or chinese ,you know, most of guys here can not understand chinese, eve touch ...
