More of a learning exercise than anything else but I am currently cloning a Seagate ST3500820AS drive in PC3K UDMA and it all seems to be going well but a quick look at some random sectors is giving me this

What does this relate to? I don't think I have seen it before.

Is one normal patern like "00" but in this case ""77", but why do you make image for one case like this? If is full with this clear that is no data there.

Thanks for the answer slack, the drive does have data on it just nearing the end of the clone (forward clone) and noticed that this was coming up so it makes sense now that you have explained it, thanks for that :D

Maybe it was used with one RAID controller which use this pattern "77" to fill the drive before to format or when drive is initialized.

As far as the client told me it was from an external enclosure, single drive no unusual config, but we all know that you cannot take that as gospel :wink: . I thought it could be related to encryption hence why I was curious, I guess I will know when I attempt data recovery from the clone but I think it should be fine.
