It may sound funny but. Maxtor "Tunes" their script to get the most from the drive and make them a little reliable :O)

Why do you want to change the scripts?

The ascii text that you can see consists of

Author - Script version - Test Limits - Test Script - Comments etc etc etc.......................

First step on Appolo N40P is for example (Partial Servo write-Script Write and user system area defect scan)
After this scan the ALT SA is copied over to the main code or user system area. The drive then re-boots onto User code and continues testing :O)

Thank you for your answer.
why we need to know the script is we can develop or just select the step that we need. like just need to hide the defective and do not need to test the head instability or buterfly or optimise. to hide the defective ofcourse can be done by logical scan but can not do it paralell.

the whole selfscan can hide away the defective but in which step?

thank you and love.
Sharon. :D
