also this is for a maxtor ALTAIR series drive which I can find remarkably little info regarding online. |

This drive family was never supported by PC3000. |

Yeah, I was unable to find any info about them in the documentation. So.... what now? If you have one of these drives that needs DR you're just out of luck? |

Typical maxtor problem... Detects as Maxtor ALTAIR, does not click when it spins up. |

Doesn't sound like heads but it's possible. First try hot swap with similar model. If you are able to access sectors after this you may be able to use Data Extractor to rebuild virtual translator. Good luck. |

Or you can use older version of pc3k isa V14 that works with these models . |
