Not that much frankly for new major(4.0) version. Quote: Kernel
-Some User Interface enhancements. -Profile handling improved. -Utility start with parameters added(actions to perform on utility start: do not read ID, perform SW/HW reset) -Ability to cancel search in database added. Universal utility -Verification test optimized. -Customization for Read/Write/Verify tests. Samsung -Terminal baud rate increased to 128000 -Handling track defects optimized. -Terminal baud rate adjusted automatically on start-up. -Added families: STORM2, TRIDENT3. -Defect list handling improved for some families. -Utility start menu revisited. -Reading by CHS mode exported to Data Extractor. -ROM writing for Delphi and Poseidon families implemented. IBM-Hitachi -NVRAM adjustment algorithm implemented for SATA drives(search beginning address of SA with non-original NV-RAM) -Password reset algorithm made easier(no testpoints shortening required) -Custom families handling improved to use with NV-RAM adjusment algorithm. -Further Data Extractor integration(some utility functions exported to Data Extractor to provide more reading and error/timeout handling capabilities). WD Marvell -LDR loading redesigned(to start drives that get hung and do not ID at all). -ROM restoration mode added for ROYL drives. Allows to rebuild ROM based on HDD SA or SA resources. -Cancel button on utility start(to stop utility initialization in case the drive hangs). -Module reading-writing improved. -Factory self-test added. -Working with module copies improved. -Internal hardware way of checking modules added in "Modules directory" and "SA Structure test" modes. -Error handling improved. -Readable vendor-specific errors reporting implemented. Seagate -Some specialized commands are now exported to be used by Data Extractor to facilitate imaging drives with bad media: loading App, Ovl0, Cert. -Ability to modify App code to prevent drive from starting "offline scan" during imaging. Greatly improves imaging speed on drives with degrading media/heads. -5400.3 family(VENUS) added. -Further Data Extractor integration(some utility functions exported to Data Extractor to provide more reading and error/loss handling capabilities). Maxtor -Loader loading algorithm optimized for Sabre2, Sabre, N40PSATA families. -Hardware translator regeneration implemented (by the drive itself - much faster than software regeneration) -Software translator regeneration algorithm optimized. -Autorecovery mode using LDR implemented. -SA structure report improved. Quantum -Modules table reading algorithm improved. -Further Data Extractor integration(some utility functions exported to Data Extractor to provide more reading and error/loss handling capabilities). Fujitsu -Further Data Extractor integration(some utility functions exported to Data Extractor to provide more reading and error/loss handling capabilities). Data Extractor -Filter view implemented to display only needed files in Explorer view based on file mask. -NTFS and HFS+ handling minor improves. |

Just as a side thought. I wish they would test the dam updates before release. I have found some problems... Grrrrr I will live BUT for the cash and the time waited I would expect a more pro release |

I have a problem recovering from HFS volumes, the utility simply freezes when recovering some of the HFS files such as .DS_STORE. Not very easy to exclde these files as they are embedded in sub-directories also. Anyone else have this problem? |
