Hi,

I need a ROM for a WD400UE-22HCTO.

The ROM version needs to match the SA ROM version on my patient which is 10.4S. (shown in "status" on a good drive, and held in a module on the platters, from which I got the version of my patients f/w)

The original PCB is dead and the orginal ROM is broken (physically)

I did some research and found that if the SA ROM version matches the PCB ROM version, the boards are interchangable. I have 2 WD400UEs with SA ROM version 10.4Q, and both PCB's work with both HDA's.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sean

Thanks Mikippp,

I actually managed to get the drive going and imaging by smart hot-swapping with the 10.4Q drive, but will try your ROM in case this method doesn't work, and for future reference.

Will let you know the results.

Sean

Update.

Re-write of 10.4S ROM to a donor PCB worked perfectly after head map change to suit my 2-headed WD400UE

Thanks again mikippp
