Hi to all,

Afther change heads in the disk i have this.

PCB is from donor
HEADS from donor

Code:
Reset
4096k x 16 DRAM
GALAXY2D - 1_Disk    S-6A   05-31-06 13:44
Head Mask FFFF - Switch to full int.
              Spin Ready
ERR Read App Code

What are the drive models? PN ? FW? Country ?
If original pcb is ok always use that.

Zebong,
You should perform terminal command
F>R4
And then paste here result (A3 or A6?)
A3: App code damaged (BAD's in SA)
A6: Incompatible App code (PCB is incompatible)
If A6 - change PCB and see;
If A3 - you should find compatible Loader (same Eng Rev with patient) and load only App code.
Then F>j.
But don't write to SA anything (App code for example).

FF=Unsupported code in the new preamp interface....Looks like incompatible heads.

check the preamp ic-chip and see if its matches with the other one
it looks to use that its using a diffrent type ic

dirty tricks of seagate to stop us recovering hard drives :(
