ok let me add some info...
I've repaired quite a bit of these drives with the firmware issue
I have a cleanroom at my work
I'm a computer engineer who has designed hardware and software
I'm very meticulous
I don't care about this drive's info and would like to open it up and see if I can fix it for the hell of it. Do in need replacement parts or is it something that just needs to be "reseated"?

Do you mean the chips on the logic board?

Personally I thin youtube DIY videos are responsible for a huge amount of the work recieved by professionals, and the reason for more expensive recovery costs.
You need specialst equipment, which can be bought, knowledge which can be gained, and experience which you do not have.
If data is valuable, you need professional assistance to avoid further damaging the drive and its data. If not valuable, feel free to visit youtube and let us know how you get on...
So if the drive spins and then starts clicking is it safe to say it is a mechanical failure even if I tried another identical logic board? If so is there a youtube video for this mechanical fix? I'm not sure which part on the inside is broken so I need some input.
Thanks
