I have not seen Laramie for a while now :)

I think is likely that ROM may be damaged, but is not the only possibility. More thorough diagnostics are needed.

It is not ROM problem.

See PM.

I have the exact same problem here. Everything sounds normal so I am hoping I can fix this without opening the drive.

Thanks for your help :D

That error is related a ROM corruprion. I solved the problem to use a donor PCB with same ROM version. For me that is the only way to solve it.

Thank you at all.

Bye

Sometime it is a little difficult to find a donor PCB, and I have another solution.
If somebody else is interesting in this, we can make a deal to exchange "this trick" :D

Hi,

I have a ST91608220AS (SEAGATE Momentus PSD 160GB) with these effects.

The terminal-output is the following:

Reset
4096k x 16 DRAM
LARAMIE - 1_Disk S-1F 07-09-07_13:15

Buzz HM SFI

A solution for this problem without expensive DR-services would be much appreciated. :D

Some posts ago "book14" meant, that there are some tricks available to resolve this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards
Chris

Merry Christmas!

The contents of NVC (Flash) damaged.

Medicine:

T>T9F
Begin Test 9F
ASCII logging on
Got to CertFlashBER_Clump
CallingInitNvcIo()
Calling M_ClearBadClumpList
Calling UnlockAllNvcBlocks
Calling FillBa ...

Data may be lost!!!
In the NVC is often MFT.

This is far not the exact same problem.
The Preamp does not see.
Check the voltage at the Prеamp contacts.
Replace PCB.
