I'm curious to see what everyone has been paying for the PC-3000 UDMA units?

As a Canadian, you'll find the price varies based on the US exchange rate. If you were to purchase one now, you would certainly get it for a lot less than when we purchased our last unit.

They did give me a quote, I was just astonished to learn they wanted 10 grand for one. Other people I have talked to have ballparked it in the 4 grand range.
I thought 4 grand was almost to much to justify the product over HD doctor. At 10 grand there is no contest.

I agree, there is no contest. PC-3000 is at least 400% more useful than HD Doctor, which I believe represents the price difference for the full kit.

Especially if that's including Data Extractor.

Also, your quote from Deepspar is the only legitimate quote you will get for a legitimate PC3K in North America. The price does vary from region to region.

It'd have to be 900% more useful to justify the 900% price difference. Anyway, I'm not complaining about price, I simply wanted to know if the quote was ridiculously inflated. Whatever they set the price at is what they set the price at, capitalism takes care of the rest. I think any business minded individual would seek to compare rates and try to get the best price from their vendors.

And no, that only includes the PC-3000 UDMA. It does not include the data extractor.

In fairness to Deepspar, their support service is fantastic and worth the price alone if you are new to this stuff.

Last I checked the Salvation kit was $2000, I take it they have lowered their prices?

Even at $10k vs. $1k I would still take PC3K over Salvation.

Hey, when I paid 10 grand (US), the exchange rate made it closer to 15 grand (CDN). It was worth every penny. The tech support provided by DeepSpar is top rate...there is no waiting weeks for a response on their forum and e-mail is responded to almost immediately.

However, all that being said. It really depends on how serious you are in doing data recovery.

When I purchased mine I contacted Deepspar. Guess due to where I live in the middle of the South Pacific and not having a person in the US they quoted me an extremely high price on the purchases of this tool. I cnotacted direct to ACE and purchased mine from them and saved a lot of money buying from Deepspar. You might want to check out the sales from ACE and compare prices on this one. know you can get it faster and not have to pay the Russian export taxes and things like this but even with paying this was cheaper than Deepspar to me.

I would say that PC3k UDMA is a bargain. In the past to get this much info and tools would have cost you lots more.

Anyway, if your in NAmerica and don't like the 10k price tag then buy yourself some sponges and start a car wash

Adding to this I would remind everyone that PC3k is a good general tool and in some specific cases you are best to research yourself and code your own software as ACE cannot cover everything :O)

buy it from russia direct for less then $4,000 but you need to know someone who lives there to buy it for you

unless you are a true guru, pc3k is a no brainer is you want to be serious about data recovery. It will pay for itself many times over. Mine paid for itself within the first month. HDD Doctor paid for itself with the first (and only) job it fixed, that's it.

yes, i got it just before UDMA, now its gathering dust.

It was an easy job, N40P G list.

If you have a friend that speaks Russian, you can ask him to call ACELAB and ask them to order one for you. He will need to provide your company's information and say that everyone who works in the company speaks Russian. You will get a great deal, North American English version for like 5k or something, including Data Extractor and lifetime updates. If you buy one using a friend that lives in Russia, you will get a station that can only be used for Russia, and if ACELAB finds out, they will lock your update box and, possible, lock your station from use (deactivate your station registration code), so any update will lock your station forever.
If you don't have a Russian friend, PM me with your inquery of what you want to purchase (UDMA, Portable, SCSI or Flash and how many) and we will work out a deal. Also, many of you don't know, but ACE support is excellent, when you contact right departments. They have support via Skype for international customers - instant response - always, technically and with billing and such.
