Good Day everyone,
I have this case. WD10EACS-00ZJB0 came with burnt PCB. I fixed it and the hdd makes a good boot now. But I cannot access to any sector, I got an ABRT error. All modules are right. No password. I have done a translator regenerator. No error but the problem is still there. Does anyone have any clue?

Ouch! Too bad..Do you mean that the head combo is broken? I have tried to read differents LBA and got errors everywhere. Is this a typical fault of this kind of HDD?
Thks drc for your help!

hmm heads are damaged but they can read sa? surface access abrt errors. personally i would be doing some more checking "elsewhere".

I guess to make any further analysis we would have to know what OP means by "fixed" the PCB.

I had similar problem on a 750Gb xxRBA0.
I initially swapped the heads and first of all it seemed to be OK, reading from some heads perfectly, then it stopped. (I had to use smart hot-swap to get the drive to read sectors, as it seemed that the heads were compatible enough to read the SA but not quite good enough to allow proper translator initialisation)
I checked the f/w several times, all mods checked out OK. Drive passed all head tests OK, but no further LBA access. Also checked the PCB, it was fine.
So I put some more new heads in... voila! LBA access again

Problem solved. PCB was ok. The problem was in the heads.
Thanks to all for your help!
