So I've paid my money and DHL delivered my parcel to me today. I've just had a quick look and there are 2 seriously big manuals that comes with it (PC3K and DE), which is good as it seems they will provide a lot of valuable information - I have A LOT to learn it seems. I've got the tools but now need to learn how to use them.

I'm interested to know how long it took you guys to become familiar with PC3K and the way it works. Weeks, months, years? I'm sure you still learn something new everyday, but how long until you felt comfortable using it, knowing that you were competent with it?

It depends of your hability to learn and time to spend.
Not because you have the right tool, things will be faster, or will be a one-click solution.
I think it will take 1-2 years at least to know the basics...

PC-3000 is a very powerful tool and it is a great tool, but it can also be very destructive to drives if you are unaware of how it works. There is no real one click solutions for drives.

I have had almost all version of this device from the the old ISA, to pci, then to udma. I am still learning new stuff to do with it.

The smartest thing to do as you get drives is to maybe post on this forum to have people give you ideas on how to fix something. Or go out and find someone selling old hard drives that do not work and try fixing them.

Our company bought a stack of about 700 hard drives a few years ago and i would say about 25% of them i was able to fix with the pc-3000.

You will also now have access to the Deepspar forum which you can ask questions there too.

Deepspar forum is for North America, me most liekly purchased the UDMA directly from Ace. In this case you can use the Ace forum
