help with firmware update wd1600aajs - 00b4a0

i have about 5 h.d.d same model 3 of them failes with same symptoms, there not being recognized from time to time, during boot time(checked on multiple machines).

is it even possible to update firmware? (i guess so, as i have seen here firmwares updates), the problem is that i have no clue how to handle those file (.rpm..)
can anybody please help, such noob like me? :)

You need to diagnose it properly.
What tools do you have? PC3k??

Im guessing here the problem is SA related, probably Overlay is damaged.

Impossible to repair without both specialist equipment and knowledge of SA structures.

Also there are many versions of SA and you would need 100% the same version. Even with the large database of resources most DR outfits have this can still be tricky (assuming problem is with Overlay).

If after powering the spindle stops, then your problem is even more serious.

Not a job for a newbie. Seek professional assistance, make a more accurate diagnostic or trash the disks.
