HDD GURU FORUMS

hi everybody
i have this disk hm500ji. When i received it, the HDD knocks. I have changed heads and clear A-List but every time
i change disk boot with same difficulties. I can always read haeds with 0, 2 and 3, but with difficulties. Head 1 never works,
so i assume that it has a surface problem.
After cloning for 30 min with H0,2 and 3 the hd begings to knock and the log of serial port tells me that the head 1 has errors.

Is it there a way to turn off H1 (besides turning off in DE) and work with the others?

Does disk init by itself, or you make hotswap to get access?
