More of a learning exercise than anything else but I am currently cloning a Seagate ST3500820AS drive in PC3K UDMA and it all seems to be going well but a quick look at some random sectors is giving me this Code: 0x0000 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0010 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0020 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0030 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0040 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0050 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0060 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0070 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0080 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0090 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x00A0 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x00B0 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x00C0 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x00D0 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x00E0 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x00F0 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0100 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0110 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0120 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0130 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0140 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0150 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0160 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0170 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0180 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x0190 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x01A0 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x01B0 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x01C0 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x01D0 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x01E0 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 0x01F0 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww What does this relate to? I don't think I have seen it before. |

Is one normal patern like "00" but in this case ""77", but why do you make image for one case like this? If is full with this clear that is no data there. |

Thanks for the answer slack, the drive does have data on it just nearing the end of the clone (forward clone) and noticed that this was coming up so it makes sense now that you have explained it, thanks for that |

Maybe it was used with one RAID controller which use this pattern "77" to fill the drive before to format or when drive is initialized. |

As far as the client told me it was from an external enclosure, single drive no unusual config, but we all know that you cannot take that as gospel |
