Amarbir, I dont have PC-3000 portable, but also thinking of getting it (some may oppose, but I have to do this differently). Considering that SD-Samsung etc are still not too developed, for me this is the next best step. Will get exposure to ACE resources which is bonus. PC-3000 portable is entry level, but based on what I researced so far I will be better off than with the other SD-Doc. Of course one cannot expect same performance as PC-3000, but I think it will be better that the others. While you are at it you may want to check the cost of PC-3000 UDMA, you may be surprised.

Got a quote (from Russia, Canada does not have it) and the price is pretty good (I cannot say what it is as it may be different per region and in anycase they are quick to respond so just ask). It will do everything DC and SD-Doc does and more (considering you will have to buy two more SD-DOC and Compass). The only thing that may delay me getting it is if I opt for DDI 1st.

I second that. Go for UDMA or throw your money in the bin (or give them to me  ).

I don't have PC3K portable, but people say it's limited. I guess it is good for someone who wants to do diagnostics etc away from home base.

Well I have PC3000 portable, and have just sent ACE a chunk of money to send me UDMA + DE. The portable did pay for itself pretty quickly but yes its pretty limited it would seem. No playing about with RAM headmaps which is something I really am looking forward to being able to do! If you can afford it, get UDMA + DE and be done with it. I've got the portable for sale just now but havent got any decent offers for it so will probably just keep it as an extra tool for when im busy and my other tools are being used.
