initially in busy state making noise like head stuck
when i run WD utility following log

BSY bug on this model is typical, but I'm a little puzzled about the noises you mention.
Can you describe? Clicking? Buzzing? Or are they just typical calibration noises?

no clicking and buzzing it likes calibration noise

if i put hdd on in after 2 mins err glows and hdd spin down

calibration noise = normal.

I believe this is typical BSY bug for this series.

Access to ACE boards will grant you access to the sticky that explains how to get into these drives to check SA/heads in most cases.

I can PM you if others have not already answered your question, just shoot me a PM.


also, you need one of the latest releases of PC3K for this to work, like the last 2 tops I think.

Hi guys,

I need help with a simliar western digital hard drive. Same problem, in PC-3000 Express its stuck on "BSY". Its a 3.5" WD Caviar Green WD30EZRS-00J99B0 3TB. With kernel mode, I was able to read the below out of the hard. Thanks.
