2.5" drives with USB

Hi all. I'm having a lot of hard tine with this drives, specially with the samsungs, Is there some guide/manual, on how to interact with those things?

Convert all to a SATA interface and you can work more safely with more stability and more options as to what you can do for repair / recovery.

For the WD you would also have to take into account the encryption it uses

Thanks for the answer!

Regarding the sata conversion : i mastered it in the WD drives, but still not sure about the samsungs - what parameters should i look for when looking for sata PCB?

Regarding the encryption : in most of the cases, this is what i do : after copying the WD USB disk with sata PCB on it, and receiving an encrypted copy, i connect it to one of many "MYBOOK" cases that i have. I most of the cases, one of them will be able to decrypt the information.

For samsung, drop the 'X' and replace with 'I'/'J' and you have SATA equivalent :)

If it has external ROM you can swap it over, if not you need to hotswap it and adapt it to work.

There is no problems with encryption on Samsung USB drives
